Grown Alchemist sets themselves apart with being a luxury, natural beauty line created by two brothers Keston and Jeremy. They utilize quality active ingredients that target from the inside out, rather than only on the skin’s surface. The Grown Alchemist Polishing Facial Exfoliant Pink Grapefruit was included in the Fall FabFitFun Box, and I couldn’t wait to finally try out this luxury skincare brand. For use as an exfoliator to wipe away dirt, dead skin cells, and leave skin smooth, I tried out the Polishing Facial Exfoliant myself:

~Review: I received this product in my FabFitFun box, and was super excited based on what I’ve read about the brand. However, this product was just average to me. The thing that bothered me the most was the scent. Based on the packaging and name, I was under the impression it would smell like grapefruit. But there was no grapefruit scent at all! It was a more musky mix of lots of essential oils. It was a bit overpowering to where when even after I washed it off, I could still smell the scent lingering on my skin. The formula has small granules in it to “exfoliate” but it was a little harsh for my sensitive skin. After using, my skin did feel much smoother and “detoxified”. But, I’m someone that enjoys exfoliating, and I honestly didn’t want to use this product more than once. While Grown Alchemist says it’s gentle enough for daily use, I’m not convinced of that. Even for more normal skin types, I think this exfoliator would be to harsh to use every single day. But, that’s just my opinion.
The price point is also pretty steep. I don’t mind spending money on quality products that really work. But I’ve used many other facial exfoliators (chemical and physical) that are at a more reasonable price point.
