Hey y’all! So something a little different on the blog today. I’ve collaborated with Blue from K-Beauty Reviews to bring her personal review of the Elizavecca Witch Piggy Hell Pore Control Serum! You can also follow her on Instagram here.

ELIZAVECCA WITCH PIGGY HELL PORE CONTROL SERUM REVIEW

K-Beauty Elizavecca Witch Piggy Hell Pore Control Serum Review - [Guest Review]

I bought this Elizavecca Witch Piggy Hell Pore Control Serum not so long ago. I was lured by the claim that the serum contains 97% of Hyaluronic Acid which is a really good for moisturizer. And it wasn’t that expensive either, so I thought to myself- now or never.

I ordered it from RoseRoseShop and it came in less than 2 weeks (I was really amazed at how fast it came) straight from South Korea. I almost finished the bottle now and I feel it’s a perfect time to share my review on it.

CLAIMS

So what is this serum supposed to do? According to RoseRoseShop it:

  • ‘captures and continually diffuses water within the skin to restore its moisture balance and leave skin feeling soft and supple’
  • provides ‘enlarged pores care’ (whatever ‘enlarged pores care’ means, really)
  • has ‘whitening and wrinkles functionality’ (I really wonder what this is supposed to mean again but there we go)
  • is a ‘multi whitening and wrinkles sauce (sauce? like- sauce you can eat? Baffled. I don’t know what a sauce has to do with a serum, lol, but anyway) serum and a powerful moisturizer’

The product description isn’t too helpful in making clear what the serum is supposed to do to your skin but I think what can be deduced from it is it’s supposed to be a good moisturizer (mainly due to the high percentage of Hyaluronic Acid in it) and have whitening effects. But let’s proceed to the review.

PACKAGING

The serum comes in this little glass bottle:

It comes with a small pipette. It’s easy to get the serum out of the bottle and I actually like that the bottle is made of glass- it’s much better to store cosmetics (especially the ones with actives that are unstable) in glass containers as it ensures their effectiveness lasts longer. However, because it’s glass it’s also fragile and I’m always afraid that I’ll drop it and the bottle will crash into small pieces. And the serum will be lost- forever. T^T

You can see the ingredients list in the photo but I also found it on CosDna. What strikes me the most is that it REALLY contains 97% of Hyaluronic Acid. It’s pretty impressive. There are also other skin-friendly bits like, for example, Niacinamide, Arginine, Adenosine or Allantoin. So for this price, it’s a really decent serum in terms of the ingredients.

In terms of the texture, the serum is transparent and is very VERY watery. It makes it incredibly easy to spread and it also absorbs quickly so you don’t have to wait too long to continue with the next steps in your skin care routine. That’s a big plus for me as I always want to finish my evening skin care routine ASAP and just go to bed. The serum also has no smell.

MY THOUGHTS

After using it for some time I noticed that my skin is plumper after applying it on my face. It’s also smooth. And because it absorbs fast it doesn’t leave this tacky feeling some sheet masks do. Instead, it leaves my skin moisturized only internally so I can still put on my regular moisturizer without feeling I’m overwhelming my skin with too much stuff.

It also made my skin a bit tighter but I didn’t notice any change in the size of my pores as the claim ”enlarged pores care” would suggest. It made my face more even though and it seems it prevents breakouts. I rarely get spots but after starting using it I haven’t got any at all so far.

When it comes to the whitening effect, my face is already pretty white so I don’t think there’s much room for any brightening. The only noticeable effect is that my skin doesn’t look that dull anymore, so maybe that’s thanks to some of the whitening ingredients in the serum.

So let’s ask this important question- is it worth purchasing? It’s definitely a decent serum but it’s not my holy grail. I do like the fact that it contains 97% of Hyaluronic Acid and that it does moisturize my skin without making it feel sticky. And it isn’t that expensive so if you’re looking for a moisturizing serum it’s surely a good choice. I’ll certainly keep using it until I’ve used it up completely and maybe will repurchase as I think it’s a good idea to use it from time to time to plump my face without the tacky feeling that would make me compromise other steps in my skin care routine.
