The Sato Project Peach & Lily Collection Alicia Yoon Lay's Taste of America Sephora Friday Features

Friday Features – The Sato Project and A New Collection from Peach & Lily

The Sato Project – An Extraordinary Animal Rescue Organization

I was kind of let down this week after Prime Day (so many IT issues) and the Nordstrom Sale (everything is out of stock when it goes to the public). But alas, I still have some favorites for the week. While of course I have some new skin care items to add to my wish list (shout out to Peach & Lily); I wanted to talk about an organization, The Sato Project, I recently started following.

Feature 1: Instagram Account/Organization – The Sato Project

I’m extremely passionate about animals and animal rescue efforts. If I had the money and space, I’d adopt as many as I could. If I ever come across a stray or abused animal, you better believe I’m stopping and helping it. But what about the animals without homes in other countries that have no shelters or people to help them? That’s where people and organizations like The Sato Project come into play. The Sato Project rescues abused and abandoned dogs in Puerto Rico, mainly on a beach called Dead Dog Beach. Their website describes Dead Dog Beach:

“As its name states, it is usually a last resting place for dogs, and it is not a happy one. No dog walks to Dead Dog Beach – it is at the end of a long road with no residences – they are dumped there. There is no food or fresh water on the beach. We are the dogs’ only source of food, fresh water, and most importantly, love, on a daily basis.” [1]

I cannot fathom the things they witness because I know it breaks my heart just looking at the pictures from their Instagram. Most are happy posts, but you do see the ugly side occasionally.

But thank goodness for these type of people and helping these animals get healthy and find loving homes. I follow their account on Instagram (@thesatoproject), and they show their rescues and when they’re up for adoption (or adopted). There are so many ways you can support this organization and I highly recommend checking them out. They’re amazing.

Feature 2: Snack Attack – Lay’s Releasing New Regional Chip Flavors

Who doesn’t love snacks?? Whether it’s sweet or salty, I’m always intrigued when classic brands bring us new versions and flavors of their food. Lay’s is giving us just that with their new Taste of America campaign. This campaign brings eight new flavors to their line with each one representing a different region of the country. The flavors are: Deep Dish Pizza, Thai Sweet Chili, Chesapeake Bay Crab Spice, Pimento Cheese, Fried Pickles with Ranch, Cajun Spice, Chili Con Queso, and Lobster Roll. Surprisingly, the one for the South (which is where I’m from) doesn’t interest me at all. Pimento Cheese has always been one of those things that people look at me like I’m crazy for hating. Personally, the ones that I will be trying are Cajun Spice (representing the Central Gulf), Chili Con Queso (Southwest), and the Chesapeake Bay Crab Spice (Mid-Atlantic).

Feature 3: New K-Beauty Line – Alicia Yoon Brings Us The Peach & Lily Collection

You may have heard of Peach & Lily as a curation website bringing new and popular Korean beauty and skincare products to the U.S. Alicia Yoon is the founder of Peach & Lily and a Harvard Business School graduate. I follow her on Instagram and she’s always posting beautiful pictures of her travels along with dropping some skin care knowledge. This week she has released her own Peach & Lily Skin Care Collection that is toxin free, irritant free, and formulated with clean ingredients.

This collection includes: Glass Skin Refining Serum, Pure Beam Luxe Oil, Matcha Pudding Antioxidant Cream, Super Reboot Resurfacing Mask, and Original Glow Sheet Mask Set. The two products I’m most excited to try is the Matcha Pudding Antioxidant Cream and Super Reboot Resurfacing Mask. The Antioxidant Cream is said to create an antioxidant barrier to help brighten and firm while protecting the skin from pollutants. And the Super Reboot Resurfacing Mask is to help with clogged pores and skin texture. Check out the whole collection here!

Feature 4: Sephora PLAY! – July’s Beauty Box from Sephora

Subscription boxes are really popular right now, especially in the beauty world. Big names Birchbox and Ipsy have been around or awhile, but Sephora PLAY! box was the one I decided to go with. I’ve been getting them for a few months now, but this month’s was by far my favorite. Each month, Sephora PLAY! delivers 6 trial size beauty products from popular brands. And this month I receive two products from Tarte. I posted about it on my Instagram yesterday, and I’m really excited to try out the Tarte blush and Algenist Liquid Collagen.

Products Included:

  • Tarte Cosmetics Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Paaarty
  • Tarte Cosmetics Color Splash Lipstick – Rainforest of the Sea Collection in Salt Lyfe
  • Biossance Squaland + Probiotic Gel Moisturizer
  • Korres Wild Rose Vitamin C Active Brightening Oil
  • Algenist GENIUS Liquid Collagen
  • Briogeo Rosarco Blow Dry Perfection Heat Protectant Creme
