It’s been a pretty stressful and long week, so I’m beyond ready for this weekend and to see The Incredibles 2! Once again, I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite things from this week starting with a hit K-Pop group, BLACKPINK!
Feature 1: Single and MV Release – BLACKPINK’S “Ddu-du-Ddu-du”
If you’ve heard K-Pop before, chances are you know who BLACKPINK is. But if you haven’t, you may still have heard of a group called 2NE1 or the artist CL (she replaces Fergie sometimes in Black Eyed Peas’ performances). CL was the leader of girl group 2NE1 who had a couple popular songs in the US. They’re signed by Korean company YG Entertainment, which is the same agency BLACKPINK is under. They’re a very similar group to 2NE1 with hard-hitting, hip-hop songs and great choreography. BLACKPINK consists of four members: Jisoo, Lisa, Jennie, and Rose. After almost a year of no song releases, they returned today with their EP release and title track “Ddu-du-Ddu-du”/ 뚜두뚜두. It’s a pretty fierce song, but the clothes were my favorite. All of the members have the most unique style. I wish I could just borrow their wardrobe for a week (so much Gucci!)
Feature 2: Hair Product – ALTERNA Caviar CC Cream for Hair 10-in-1 Complete Correction
I have never once used any sort of hair cream/mask besides heat-protectant and volumizing mousse. Not even leave in conditioner. But recently, I thought about how I really should try to take better care of my hair. I mean who doesn’t want softer, stronger hair if possible? For my June Sephora PLAY! box I received the Alterna Caviar CC Cream for Hair.
Basically, you just apply it evenly throughout the hair after towel drying. Once I did that and dried my hair, it was instantly softer and healthier feeling. I don’t really have frizzy hair (mine is straight and thin), but I can see how it could help with frizziness as well. According to Alterna this CC Cream “provides moisture, shine, smoothness, softness, anti-breakage, heat protection, light hold, UV protection, manageability, and strength.” It’s also been clinically proven to reduce hair breakage by 92% and can protect hair from heat up to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.
Feature 3: New Book Alert – Joanna Gaines’ Design Book “Homebody”
Is it possible to not love Joanna Gaines and her interior design skills?? Like many others, I love watching Fixer Upper because not only are Joanna and Chip #RelationshipGoals; but also, Joanna’s talent in taking a run-down house and turning it into a completely different, beautiful masterpiece is amazing. Ever since I bought my house, I’ve wished I could hire Joanna to just tell me how to make my home pretty. Now, she has given us the next best thing with her book, “Homebody: A Guide to Creating Spaces You Never Want To Leave.” She describes it as a, “tool to help you create a home that truly reflects the people who live there”. Count me in! The only downside is that it won’t be released until November 6th, but you can go ahead and pre-order it HERE!
Feature 4: Do I Need or Want? – Dagne Dover Signature Essentials Coated Canvas Clutch/Wallet
I’m one of those people who tries so hard to have an organized purse/bag/backpack. But, it just isn’t meant to be. I’ll clean out my purse and I swear the next day 20 receipts, at least two pairs of head phones, bobby pins, ponytail holders, and countless coins are somewhere at the bottom of my bag. It’s probably because I have one small wallet for cards and cash, but everything else doesn’t really have a place. Hence, me wanting this clutch/wallet. It has card holders, an area for cash/coins, and a zipper pocket that can be used for things like a phone and headphones. Even better, it has a wrist strap, for those times when you don’t want to carry a full purse. Buy HERE!
