[K-Beauty Review] Memebox’s Nooni Lip Oils and Lip Mask
February 22, 2018
I recently received Nooni’s new Lip Oil Line and Apple Butter Lip Mask from Memebox. Nooni is an all-natural ingredient skin care line made for all skin types. And, they don’t test on animals (big plus in my book!). The Lip Oil line has three different lip oils called Applecoco, Applemint, and Appleberry all for slightly different purposes. While, the Apple Butter Lip Mask is for overnight use to cure your cracked lips by morning.
Applemint Lip Oil
Use: To Hydrate and Plump
Scent: Pleasant, light mint smell that is not overpowering at all.
Review: I love the applicator of these lip oils. It’s a slightly bent oval-shaped that allows for great application. The applemint oil promises to hydrate and plump. While it definitely has the hydration elements, there was not any noticeable difference in the “plumpness” of my lips. There is a slight tingly sensation when you first apply it, just how any mint product does, so I know the mint ingredient was there. It just simply didn’t have the plumping effect I desired.
Overall Rating:2.5/5 (half the points since it came through on 1 of the 2 promises)
Scent: A refreshing berry scent. It isn’t very strong, just a hint of berries.
Review: I was unsure of what to expect from the “tinting” aspect as the color looks bright red in the bottle. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I like this lip oil! The term “oil” should be used loosely because it isn’t oily/slick feeling at all. Less so than a typical gloss! The appleberry was hydrating and the tint of it was more of a natural-pink color. It wasn’t bright or over the top, just enough color to give an overall “natural” make-up look.
Scent: The least fragrant of the three. A slight, sweet scent.
Review: If you’re looking for something to hydrate while staying close to more of balm, this is the one you need. I love this product because it gives an awesome glow to your lips without the sticky gloss feeling and really helps with cracked lips (desperately needed with this weather!). It’d also be great to layer under a lipstick/color.
Use: To Soothe and Alleviate Dry, Cracked Lips. Use the spatula to dip out a pea-sized amount, and apply to clean lips. It can be used day or night, but I recommend night-time because of the thickness of the product.
Scent: Not fragrant at all. If anything, true to its name, and just a hint of apple butter.
Review: For months now, I’ve been wanting to try a lip mask, but find myself picking up other products instead. So when I received this lip mask, I was super excited to try it. First, I loved the texture and consistency of it. It looks slightly like Vaseline (as it does work, I don’t like the greasy feeling it leaves behind), but it feels completely different! It’s a bit thicker and balmier, so you do have to rub it in a little. The next morning, my lips did look and feel more hydrated and healthier, so I can’t ask for much more.
