[K-BEAUTY REVIEW] New Korean Skincare Products Review
January 17, 2018
During Black Friday, I picked up some Korean Skincare products I’ve heard great reviews about and wanted to try out. After trying out the following four products for a couple of weeks, I found a couple of great ones that are here to stay in my skin care line-up.
1. NEOGEN Real Ferment Micro Essence
The NEOGEN Real Ferment Micro Essence is known for containing 93% fermented ingredients. Claims of this product is to moisturize while giving the skin a nice illuminating and plumping effect. I first heard about this product through Charlotte Cho’s blog post here (also a good read to learn more about the ingredients). I was somewhat nervous to try this product because I have combination skin, so products with a lot of moisturizer/moisturizing effects can sometimes break out my skin. However, I absolutely loved this product. It hasn’t broken my skin out at all, but delivers on exactly what it claims too. My skin looks brighter and healthier every time I use it, which is quite often right now with the weather.
I’ve been on the hunt for my “holy grail” toner which led me to try out MISSHA’s Super Aqua Pore-Kling Toner after reading great reviews on it. Honestly, I don’t really have any rave comments or negative opinions on it either. It is more of a “meh” product for me. While my skin felt clean after using it and the scent was pleasant without being too strong, I didn’t notice any difference in my skin. My pores didn’t look or feel “tighter” and didn’t notice a change in the oily-ness of my skin. But, it didn’t break me out, so that’s always a plus. I probably will not re-purchase, but it would be worth a try if you’re looking for something very light to make sure all make-up is off your skin.
The Lioele V-Line Sleeping Mask is the very first sleeping pack I’ve ever tried. And, boy have I been missing out! Always nervous about sleeping packs breaking my skin out, Lioele’s proved me wrong. This particular product won Soko Glam’s “Best of K-Beauty” promising to “reduce redness while firming the skin” over night. I think I loved how light and airy this product was the most. It felt like I didn’t even put moisturizer on, yet in the morning, my skin was noticeably bright and fresh. I typically use it about two to three nights a week depending on the dullness of my skin.
4. MISSHA Time Revolution Night Repair Science Activator Ampoule
Known as Estee Lauder’s Night Repair dupe, I knew I had to try the MISSHA Night Repair Ampoule for anti-aging. Those fine lines starting to form around my mouth and forehead have really been troubling me (LOL). After using this for a couple of weeks, I didn’t notice a huge difference in the appearance of the lines across my forehead, but my smile lines did seem a little less noticeable. My skin did feel smoother after wearing it overnight though. A little bit of this product goes a long way too, so you’re definitely getting your money’s worth. It’s also much lighter than I expected which is a big plus in my book.
